Most of the trees alongside the boundary wall on Homefield Road have been removed. They used to form a beautiful, cooling and environmentally valuable canopy over this section of the road. So far as I know, the planning application has not been approved--were the developers permitted to remove these trees before full permission was granted? I understood some of the trees were important as habitats but it seems they were getting in the way of the plans. It looks dodgy to me.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for making me aware of this. The current planning status is still 'unknown' on the ECC planning portal. Unless planning was permitted or there was a valid reason (such as removing diseased trees) - then I cannot see why they should of been removed?

I will email the planning officer Emily Perryman to try and find out what is going on.

I will update this Blog with any information I can find out about this.

Thanks.

Terrence.
