Information: This is one of several Sycamore trees along the back part of Cowick Barton playing fields. Sadly this tree is not doing so well and over 75% of it's crown is leafless. Due to the decline of this tree and other factors it is very likely due to be felled and a suitable replacement found. The ECC tree team are already aware of this tree. Information: This is a very young tree and is newly planted. Sadly it is in a poor way - Coral spot has taken hold. Due to the current condition - it is not likely to improve so a replacement tree is probably the solution here. The concern here is there is a mature Walnut tree nearby - so if this young tree is infected with any airborne pathogens it could infect any others. I have made the Exeter Tree manager and the Environmental Agency aware. Information: A pair of variegated type of Lawson cypress at the Exwick Cemetery of which one is in decline. The cause of the decline (dead leaves and open crown) is likely to be due to water-logging of the roots due to a blocked drain. I have made the Council and local Exwick councillors aware who will notify the Cemetery manager. If the drain is unblocked and measures taken to reduce to the run off from the slope - the tree's health should improve.
